Reporting to the Vice President of Garden Centre Operations, the Garden Centre Operations Assistant Manager is accountable for coordinating and developing activities relating to operating procedures, internal control systems and identifying best practices to improve inventory integrity. This position performs a wide variety of support services, ranging from complex to routine, all of which contribute to the efficiency of Retail Operations.
Responsibilities include:
Assist with the monitoring of Policies and Procedures relating to operational activities. Monitor internal control methods to ensure compliance.
Develop activity productivity measurements and best practices standards of operation.
Participate and direct stores in formal observations focusing on all aspects of store operations.
Adhere to Store Merchandising Standards. Comply with Merchandising with a Passion Guidelines (MAP) in Key Merchandising Areas.
Assist with the monitoring of inventory activities including inventory count and adjustments, including scheduling and staffing for inventory counts.
Monitor store inventory record-keeping including write-offs to scrap, clearance, and store-use.
Monitor store compliance to Omni processing standards utilizing the Omni Management Report and other tools.
Kronos timekeeping system monitoring for scheduling and use.
Monitor retail, inter-store transfers, maximize the transfer truck program and monitor results.
Oversee the monitoring of housekeeping, warehouse maintenance and receiving procedures
Skills required:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years supervisory experience in operations related activities. Strong analytical and communication skills and attention to detail are imperative. Must have excellent organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to balance multiple issues and projects in a fast paced environment. Must have own vehicle as travel to all garden centres will be a regular part of the job.
Advanced computer skills are essential and POS experience is a requirement. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other software as required.

Position Summary
This is a key position with the Sheridan Nurseries' Purchasing Team. Key functions are data entry and updating, completion of reports, and assisting with the review of vendor and product data files in our retail POS system. This team member, reporting to the Garden Centre Inventory Manager, will also assist other members of the purchasing department including supplier and Garden Centre support.
Accountability
Applicants must be able to maintain top levels of productivity and accuracy in fast-paced work environment.
Key accountability includes vendor maintenance within the POS system; PO entry; receiver/invoice processing; product maintenance of the POS system; review and correction of existing files within the POS system.
Skills Required

Position Summary

The Nursery Yard and Property Foreman will ensure all store signs, parking areas and loading docks are clean and clear, assist with coordination of receiving stock in conjunction with Store Receiver and Product Supervisors, assist with stocking, pricing or placement of plants and products, maintain and schedule use of yard equipment including forklifts, tractors, power equipment, etc.
Skills Required
Practical experience in commercial/residential landscape maintenance is an asset, but not essential. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of yard equipment and must have experience in supervising staff.
Position Summary
This position involves the daily operation of our Custom Floral Design department. Duties include daily arranging of product pieces for sale of both floral and custom design, preparation of orders, use of Teleflora service, walk-in requests, as well as the implementation of sales strategies, marketing programs, merchandising and store presentation standards. This position will also be responsible for the execution of the custom design classes that are offered to our guests.

The duties of this position include inspecting and verifying incoming goods against invoices or other documents, maintaining an internal record-keeping system, recording shortages, rejecting damaged goods, unpacking goods received, and overseeing the loading and unloading of goods.
The ideal candidate has 1-2 years quality experience in shipping/receiving and will be able to lift up to 50 lbs (23kg). Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast paced environment is essential This person will be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays as scheduled.
